Living in United States, Earth as a xeno-diplomat for decades, Leopold travelled to China for the first time.

Standing on a street of        云南昆明        Kunming, Yunnan , Leopold could feel everyone looking at him in a strange way. Well, he is an alien after all, and he does fit into the earth men's stereotypes on what an alien might look like: long fingers, a long neck, plain-white skin, big eyeballs in total black, and a squid-like head.

"           =Ό-ΎϬΆϡϣϠ·ΈΐΎΏẪΎΏΰΉΐΎΏΆϡϣΆϡϣ           Nothing is gonna stop me from trying the tabacco here. " Leopold thought (in his first language from his own planet).

Cigarettes on earth are popular among the universe, and Leopold is one of their craziest fans. It did not spend too much time for Leopold to spot a newsstand with some packs of cigarettes on its shelf.

" May I have a pack of cigarettes? " Leopold walked to the newsstand, and asked the old man receptionist gently.

"           我听不懂外星人的话。           I cannot understand alien languages. " The old man shook his head and said.

" Sorry, do you speak English? " Leopold slowed down his speaking.

    "                 听不懂,听不懂。                 I can't understand, CAN'T understand. " The old man repeated.

"   Español? Spanish?   français? French?   日本語? Japanese? " Leopold had tried out every single language he can speak on earth. However, The old man just kept shaking his head and waving his hands.

"     ΆϡϣϠ·ΈΐΎΏ=Ό-ΎϬẪΎΏΰΉΊΰϠϡΐΎΏ     Probably someday I should learn Chinese. " when Leopold was gonna giving up trying, a young kid rushed out from the back of the shelf.

"      爸,人家说的是英语啊!      Dad, he is speaking ENGLISH! " the young kid talked frantically to his dad and turned his face toward Leopold with a guesture smile.

" What can I do for you, sir? " the kid asked Leopold gently.

" Oh, thank god, may I have a pack of cigarettes? the red one please. " now poor Leopold could finally switch back to his second language. He is not good in either Spanish or French, and only knows few Japanese greeting phrases.

" Ci-Ga-r-re? " the young kid had trouble understanding the English word cigarette.

Learning that he knows more English words than this young earth boy, he tapped two fingers on his lips and blew some gas out to demonstrate what he wanted.

"   哦,烟! Oh, yan! smoke! " the smart boy quickly got what Leopold wanted.

" Yes, SMOKE! SMOKE! " Leopold catched this word intantly.

" What Smoke? " the kid asked.

" The red one. " Leopold pointed his long finger towards the red pack of cigarettes he wanted.

" This? " perhaps Leopold's finger is long enough for the young man to know what he is pointing at.

" Yes, that one! " Leopold replied.

Paying the price the kid wrote out on a piece of paper in Arabic numerals, Leopold walked away from the newsstand pleasantly with his favourite entertainment in his pocket. After a few miles away he travelled, the conversation between the father and son came to his ears:

"           俺家娃能听懂外星人的话哩!           My boy can understand the alien languages! "

    "   人家说的是英国人的话。   He was speaking ENGLISH. "
